Thread: Official PC Thread

  1. $7.49 is a good deal on Jay Z 2K13.

  2. Can someone explain the cards thing to me? Because I am just seeing everyone go completely apeshit over these and while I have been working long hours, I don't think I am that out of the loop. Do you get HL3 installed to your HD after getting a certain number?

    I'll try:

    1. Open your Friends list.
    2. Click on the down arrow next to "Yoshi."
    3. Choose "Invite to Trade."
    4. Drag all of your cards to the right.
    5. Click "Accept" and bask in eternal* gratitude.

*Eternal is defined as the passage of ten minutes or until I am distracted by internet porn, whichever occurs first.

  4. DNG asked for my cards, otherwise I'd have no problem with that.

I just want to know why

  5. Voted Gunpoint as well. Doom 3 BFG and Kerbal Space Program. God damn it, Steam! This sale is everything the Christmas one wasn't.

Yoshi- thanks for the trade tutorial, or at least the first half. I had no idea how that was done before now.

I guess there are three motivations. Some people want to sell them. Some people want to just build up their Steam level through any means necessary. Mech showed me some ridiculous examples of this yesterday. I'm in the third group and want to just get everything out of the games that I buy and these meta events... probably due to some form of OCD.

  7. Well that's fine but my argument would be 'are you really getting everything out of the games?' I think we talked about this at one point when it came to score stuff, time trials, and just generally setting your own goals if the stuff isn't tracked.

But that's cool, collect em all ;p

My sense of achievement is definitely more of a western one than an eastern one.

  9. I like the cards because they bring down the cost of games. Period.

Everything else about it is fucking stupid. I don't give a shit about my steam rank, I'm not using steam to build rank, I'm using it to play games.

  10. I like selling foils. That's about all I care about with the card system. I find achievements to be reasonably interesting because they tend to require skill and are a reward for accomplishing something. The only thing that cards require is time, which means they're worthless to me.
