I'm having a great time playing Blood Dragon. It makes me want to play Farcry 3. I know Farcry 3 won't be neon and dragons and campy, but it should still have the same quality of gunplay and similar mission structures right?

But these fuckers with their 40% off are ruining everything. I'm not buying that game for more than $15. Winter sale imo.

Blood Dragon is a lesser, cut-down Far Cry 3 in every sense. You'll probably like Far Cry 3 if you like Blood Dragon beyond the (tryhard imo) throwback humor.

The humor and style is the least important part of that game to me. So yeah I'll probably live FC3.

Take away the paint and Blood Dragon fixed everything that kept me from getting into FC2.

FC2 made me not even bother looking at FC3. I got it during the holiday sale last year though.

Crytek didn't make FC2, FC3, or Blood Dragon, they're by Ubisoft Montreal.

I'll never play FarCry 1, 2, or 3, but I had fun with Blood Dragon. The points where it's dumb from a gameplay perspective are exactly where every single 'sandbox' game fucks up: repetitive missions, bad backtracking, too much time on-foot, loads of worthless weapons, long stretches between anything interesting happening in the campaign. Keeping the game short was its saving grace.

Hunting down and killing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was rad.

Far Cry 3 only has backtracking when you wish to backtrack, and half way through the campaign you'll never walk anywhere again.
