Thread: Official PC Thread

  1. RunGunJumpGun or whatever is only $1.50. Warlock's Tower is on sale too and looks fun.

  2. Best Buy has the Dell S2716DGR 27" 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor on sale for $349. That's $75 less than I paid for an open box unit at MicroCenter a little over a month ago and $150 less than what Best Buy was selling it for last month. You'd be hard pressed to find a 24" G-Sync monitor with similar specs for that price.

  3. Thanks for the heads up. Is G-Sync make a big difference? I'm running a 1060 6gig card.

Ok now it seems as though the sale has fully begun. Almost all my games on my wish list are on sale now. That was weird how it started.

  5. GSync is great when your framerate is lowish or uneven.

  6. It's like having V-Sync turned off and experiencing no screen tearing. Even when your fps dips below 60, it doesn't stutter like a normal 60Hz monitor would do.

  7. I've seen cheaper, but they had Freesync instead of Gsync

That's only good for AMD GPU owners. You'd have all kinds of screen tearing using an Nvidia GPU with that, unless you maintain 144fps. $349 for a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor without any of those technologies would still be a reasonable price.

  9. EVGA wants your old GeForce 4 MX440 ACS or ACS2, and they'll give you $1,000 EVGA bucks for it.

I have an old GeForce 4 MX440 stored away, but I don't think that it is the card they want.

    *edit*

I dug out the box today. I did have the EVGA GeForce 4 MX440. It was the SE version though.

  10. If you've been holding off on building a new PC because you can't get a graphics card at a decent price, EVGA is offering a motherboard and graphics card bundle that is decent for the current market. Hurry, because they a going fast.
