So basically here is what I want to be able to do. For my laptop, it's wireless and when I'm home I use some specific settings, I tell it what IP to use and DNS servers and all that stuff, however when I'm at school with it on the school network I need to change it to obtain IP address and DNS servers automatically. Is there a way I can have my laptop set up so that when I'm on the school server it knows to use the obtain etc ect settings, and when I'm on my home network it knows to use my IP settings I give it?
Different user accounts perhaps?

Maybe I haven't tried that yet, I noticed on my dads laptop in Vista that you can set up a use these settings when home and use these settings at work type of thing, was hoping XP had something like it and I just missed it.

Usually you can set up two different wireless profiles, make one "Home" with all the settings for your home and make the other "school" with all the settings you need at school.

That's weird. I have a wifi adapter in my old laptop, and the associated software retains settings (network config, wep/WPA passwords, etc) for each network it connects to.
Maybe you should check for newer drivers/software for your wireless chipset and see if that feature has been added.
