Thread: Don Imus Makes People Angry, Gets Fired

  1. I find Rush Limbaugh's shit a hundred times worse than anything that Don Imus can even think of dishing out. Nothing should have happened to Imus. They would've kept him if it weren't for the damn sponsors' dollar. Congratulations CBS and NBC- you'll find Imus on satellite in the long run, where he can say what he damn well pleases.

Limbaugh's making fun of Parkinson's sufferer Michael J. Fox was unjust. Never mind political correctness- this was outright malice. Sharpton's and Jackson's rantings are so damned tabloid. They sure love to fan the flames. Lump the two in there with Limbaugh.

While I feel sorry for him being in critical condition, Gov. Corzine should be ticketed for not wearing a seat belt. Sorry, but he should pay the same penalty everybody else does.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

Especially Jefferson. We all know he had nothing but love for black women.

Rush Limbaugh is a necessity in this country. We need dipshits like him to remind us just how far out of touch with reality the right has become. I'm hoping they stay that way until at least 2009.

  3. Overreaction. Nobody really gives a shit. Everyone is racist.

The Founding Fathers were slave owners and considered other races to be inferior to their own intellectually and culturally, but yet they still crafted one of finest government documents in human history. Whether they would have been politically sensitive in how they spoke is imposing a modern sensibility onto a culture that was radically different. It's wrong to denounce them for this, but it's also wrong to try and use them as a justification against it.

Also, they wouldn't be rolling in their graves over this. This was the decision of a private business to dismiss one of its employees, there was no intervention of the government. Imus was not jailed or forced off the air. He exercised his freedom of speech without any reprisal by an agent of the state. They would be happy, because this is a clear case of the system they set up actually working the way it was supposed to, as in not getting involved at all.
    Time for a change

What country are you talking about? Because you don't live in ours, and with how backwards your views are, it's a good thing.

I don't want to misquote him, so I won't try to get it right. He hit on how pop culture is screw up in regard to Anna Nicole Smith in the same talk, which is another case of blatant hypocrisy from an asshat who got a ton of votes from morons watching "Rock the Vote" on MTV.

CBS radio sent their on air talent a crystal clear message with this incident. Imus was one of their marquee players, and the way the handled this showed how they are unwilling to support their talent, no matter who they are or what they've done for the company. This move will just push more of their employees towards satellite.

And Rush is serious when he says that shit.

And lo and behold I can still change the channel and not listen to him.

The founding fathers gave us the bill of rights so that we would agree to the constitution. You cannot go beyond the words of the bill to intention, those words are the population's half of the bargain. You would have to go on the intention of the populace when they signed it if anything.

So I don't think the founding fathers would be rolling either.
    Check out Mr. Businessman

M1 from Dead Prez was on Fox yesterday talking about it. Caught it just as he was going off the air though.

    This whole situation is asinine.
