Sirlin also mentioned tutorial videos for each character as a possible expansion pack feature, which wasn't said before. I'm curious to know what he meant by new features and characters though (alternate costumes, maybe?).
Great find. Most of it was already in that monster 17 minute interview but this is short and sweet. Guile's new heavy flash kick sounds like it'll be a nice change.

I like that one a ton. If it goes forward like he says that will make Guile extremely more useful.
I think he really meant ... new characters. I wonder if he might pull in some Alpha 3 characters. Now my mind is racing.
You know what's rather funny and sad. This game has my interest more than SF4, the one everyone was waiting for. A remake of an old SF2 game is grabbing my interest and hard earned (when I finally have a job)dollars. The way they are making this game ... its almost like they should have trashed the code and redone the whole thing. I mean jesus christ they re-did controller motions for certain characters, they improved some characters moves, added moves, added features, and they are talking of adding more characters. WTF.

Easier said than done. Part of the reason why they could do so many changes was because the base of the game was already made, so all that needed to be done is figure out which settings controlled what and tweak them. It would have been a lot harder to start over from scratch and try to have the new game match up to the original in the most crucial aspects, frames, hitboxes, and speed.

An expansion would be nice. As for new features, they can always add a new mode. A World Tour mode maybe? You start with a basic character and you can earn special move properties to build them up as you like. So you can mix move properties of the Old/New versions of the original ST characters with the new HDRemix versions. Maybe earn STRemix Ryu's fake fireball or Guile's old-style FK blade kick. It's a long shot, but would be cool.
Akuma mode from SFA2 would work also. You'll fight HD Remix Akuma, then ST Akuma, then Shin Akuma, then Ten Akuma back to back. All the Akumas (besides HDR Akuma) will be in the DC version already (and HDR is using that game as a base) so I think that idea has a good possibility for implementation. Just add a time attack leaderboard and throw an achievement for completing the mode for each character and people will probably eat it up.
I don't think they'll add much with new characters... if anything, all I can see is the previously mentioned Shin/Ten Akuma and maybe Evil Ryu (along with other modifications of existing characters). Characters that would be banned in tournament play. That way, the expansion won't mess people up that didn't get it, while people that do get it will have something "fun" to mess around with.
I like the tutorial.
I guess Akuma would be the one, but you can add Sakura. You could also add Adon and Guy. I mean its not out of the realm of possibilities.

What I can tell from the image is that you're somehow expecting something from this game that no one involved has ever led anyone to believe it would deliver.
Capcom's been very up front about this being pretty much a 1:1 HD conversion of SF2. The HD SF2 sprite looks amateurish compared to an SF3 sprite because... the original SF2 sprites look amateurish compared to SF3 sprites.
I think the bigger issue isn't whether the sprites looks as good as they could given the restrictions or not, it's whether the entire project was worth doing given the restrictions. Seeing the hi-rez videos, the game looks really clunky and soulless to me, and arguably worse than the original. For all the man-hours spent, it shouldn't even be in question.
For moves with barely any animation, it looks fine and the huge detail increase is great. I agree with cigs though, it seems like they're treating frames as individual drawings. Ken and Ryu's idle animation does look worse, but I'm not sure why...I think the front foot placement is jittering. Overall, I'd say it looks as fun to play as an Udon comic is to read...take that as you will.
In the 17 minute video ... did anyone notice they have two SF4 cabinets.
Also, Sagat's Tiger Knee is a juggling move now.
Not to be bitchy, but someone from Sirlin.net posted two comparison animated gifs of Ryu. One is the old SSF2T and one is the remixed version.
