There's no way that's the final idle animation. I don't understand why people act like it isn't work-in-progress.

  3. final or not, I like it... and it doesn't help that ST is the fighting game equivalent of the abusive spouse in a relationship that you just can't pry yourself away from

I don't particularly mind the new sprites, but this is a pretty lame excuse. "Guys, it's supposed to be mediocre."

They don't know anything about following arcs and flipping to check that the overall motion reads.
Man these guys suck so much.

  6. Gameplay is hots!

Yeah I kinda agree with cigs when I look at it in motion. Standalone the frames look pretty good, but there is actually something there with that SFIII ryu.

Also, a noticable change is the way Ryu shuffles, it seems more like the way a real fighter would, which is a neat change, but when i see them side by side, I actually prefer the SFII one.

Still, this is Sirlin doing gameplay. I have alot of faith in that over any other company making a fighting game, but I've been wrong before.

Capcom's the one that hired comic book artists to do animators' jobs.

Hey, you tell people to copy the old sprites as much as possible, don't cry when they end up recreating the warts.

Anyway, that sentiment speaks to more than the sprites. SSFT2 has been bettered many times over, I'm not sure why everone's so jazzed for this thing. May look nice but it's still going to be SSFT2, in the end.

That .gif that Advocate posted has a problem. The video it was taken from has the game running on a couple "turbo" stars. The game is going at 60fps, and that video is doing 24-or-30, which means you're not seeing every frame that would be displayed on a television!

So it's not really a fair comparison at all!

Cigs should know better, but he's indulging his hate-on for the artstyle instead of thinking!
