elite was obviously to match ps3 features, what does 360 have that ps3 is missing besides rumble, and dedicated scaler?

A decent size userbase.

The Elite does have twice as much HD memory, though PS3's HD can be upgraded with a much larger one, by those that are tech savvy. It sounds like this newer version will scale back the media ports, scale down the amount of chips inside, increase the HD space available and come pre-loaded with software that makes it easier to download media content. It sounds like a reasonable upgrade that won't increase the price of this newer version, upon release.
