None of the stores had it in stock, so I bought it online.

Awesome collection. I've only played Insector X, Arabian Magic and Elevator Action II but I loved every minute of it.

These Taito collections are great. I never even knew there was an Elevator Action 2. Good stuff.

Now, if they'd only release a DATA EAST collection. With Karnov and Bad Dudes.

Just picked this up and enjoying it. The Darius games are so much fun! Such a deal at 20 bucks. Legend of Kage is another favorite for me.

I'm kind of pissed about Elevator Action 2. The box listed Elevator Action Returns, and I was thinking the Saturn game when I bought it.

On the plus side, Majestic Twelve made me enjoy Space Invaders more than I thought possible. It's just a really fun little game.

Um. Elevator Action 2 IS Elevator Action Returns. Different names for different regions. Like RayForce.

Welll whattaya know, so it is. I was looking through the menus last night and the picture they had for Elevator Action 2 looked completely different from what I remembered. There was so much other stuff on the disk I didn't get around to looking at it closer, and thought it was something much older.

RayForce is especially confusing since it actually had different names in the same region. I'm enjoying the collection so far.

One thing that should be noted is that some games have issues. Darius Gaiden and Elevator Action 2 have some slowdown that isn't in the arcade (though both retain their awesomeness despite this). Elevator Action 2's machine gun doesn't have automatic fire when holding down the button like it should. Hat Trick Hero doesn't have continuous passing by holding the button down. Metal Black's MAX laser automatically goes to thunder after you use it, whether you hold the button down or not. Bust A Move Again is not only the altered version without Bub and Bob, but it plays the sound incorrectly too (sometimes no music plays at all). Still, even with the issues, this is a fine package and it's awesome having so many games in one place and a G-Darius without the massive slowdown of the PSX version.

Played through some of the games this weekend. Thank god for the awesome selection of shooters. However, I find most of the other games to be fairly lacking. All of the beat em ups were pretty shitty. Either small characters with no animation or large charcters with no animation. Didn't Taito release anything on par with Double Dragon or Final Fight (aside form Ninja Warriors)?

Some classic Taito platformers on this collection. Liquid Kids and Don Doko Don I expected to be superior, but I was surprised by Bonze Adventure. Quite a charming little side scroller.

I just wish Ninja Warriors was on this compilation. Did they release it on the first Taito Legends?

Ninja Warriors isn't in that one, or even the Taito Memories series.
That said, I wouldn't mind a HD version for 360 or PS3 which would put the whole 864 x 224 play area on screen- something that could work decent in 720p, especially if this could be scaled to 864 x 448 / 864 x 672. Even if 720p is 1280x720, a little letterboxing wouldn't bug me.
