F-Zero GX is easily one of the greatest non-standard racing games of all time, and it looks gorgeous to boot.
PLUS it has a wacky ass story mode. Actually, it has features coming out it's ass. I really hope he was talking about the GBA ones.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

Happens all the time. Just 'cause Nintendo puts out rehashes doesn't mean they don't do original stuff as well.
Miyamoto's name, like Iwata's, gets put on almost every game that comes out from Nintendo. He's even listed in the credits for Geist. His involvement with Twilight Princess was probably very limited. If you want to consider Miyamoto's contributions to Nintendo in terms of innovation, think Pikmin, Nintendo DS, Wii Remote, Nintendogs, Wii Sports.
A lot of the individuals we think about on the topic of innovation have the luxury of working on one project for two or more years at a time. If Miyamoto produces something innovative only every two years, he's still ahead of the curve.
Story mode was pretty wacky, I just didn't think it was very fun.
Like I told you in that IM, it's sad that Burnout 3 is more fun to me than F-Zero GX was. The Nintendo fanboy in me wants to adore F-Zero GX, but the realist in me just knows there are better arcade racers out there to play.
Love F-Zero GX but it is hard as hell. Harder than I want to try but it is very pretty. Sega should do an update on 360 (well, not F-Zero but a futuristic racer) that is easier and it would rock.
I think it's pretty retarded to refer to "what people want" and "Games that are fun" as two different things. I can appreciate what he's saying about the value of innovation, but to say anyone plays Halo for any other reason than because they find it fun is just silly.
Remember that his words are filtered through translation.
Why does anyone give a shit about this?
Before the thread hits a billion pages, lets just summarize:
Nintendo sucks. Miyamoto is the worst game designer ever.
Done.
