I've never had any shoulder issues with the ol' Pec Deck. I personally find it useful for really hitting the inner pecs hard and helping develop the inner cut down the middle. Dumbbell flyes are great but you can't get your elbows to almost touch like you can on the Pec Deck.

I assume that most of the people who hurt themselves on the Pec Deck tackle it like it's a power exercise when it's more about holding at the peak of the movement and lowering it slowly.

Don't feel bad. Average number of push-ups for the regular joe is something like 24.

I was wondering why you hadn't posted in this thread in a while. I was worried that you'd gone fatty on us again. Glad to see you're back in action.

The gf and I are planning a trip to Philly in the next few weeks. Maybe we can meet up while we're there if you promise not to grow tentacles and rape her or anything.

That was probably on The Unbeatable Banzuke. All they have to do is go down and hit a button with their forehead (or chest maybe) and they are anything but strict form.

    Great show! (bad pushup form)

I have never personally had issues with it either, but I know of multiple people that have developed issues from it.

The problem with it is the lack of adjustability to fit different body types and from that making your body move in an unnatural movement. Similar to how it's better to do a free-weight bench than it is to bench in a smith.

Shockingly, I have maintained the same weight. The issue is the muscle has gotten flabby. Not now though. I kicked the shit out of my lackadaisical muscles.

Is this the same type of trip where you said you'd be down in NC? If so I won't hold my breath, ____dick.____
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  4. I never said I was coming down to NC. You invited me, I said I might some time.

Besides, Philly is way closer to me than NC. I'm talking a day trip to check out shit like Eastern State Jail, The Mutter, etc.

  5. Great jog in the amazing weather we are having right now. Ended the day with 30 min on the bike and 1.5 hours of upper body. Loving these results.

Did about an hour of legs today and walked three miles. Some guy was doing deadlifts and throwing the bar on the ground after each rep and going YAAAAAA.

What do you expect from a guy that knows how to really get results. You could learn a thing or two from him.

Two weeks off from running because of a crazy amount of tests at school, but I did 3 miles each these last two nights. As Cap said, this weather is beautiful for running.

I miss rock climbing 3-5 times a week and 20-30 miles a week, but in conjunction with work, it takes too much time from school.

That's nothing. The other day there was this homeless-looking black dude in my gym. Nobody has seen him before or since. Anyway, he's got gross matted hair and he's wearing what appeared to be bedroom slippers, ratty old sweats, and a muscle shirt revealing a pot belly. Also, he was covered with pink weightlifting chalk, as was the floor of the powerlifting rack he was using where he had set up an olympic bar completely loaded with 45 pound plates (the bar was almost bending). He sat there for 10 minutes doing nothing, got up, walked over to the rack, and started rubbing even more pink chalk all over the bar. Then he spread his feet wider then his shoulders, bent over and grasped the bar with both hands, one overhand, one underhand. He suddenly started screaming "HUUUGH! HUUGGHH! HUUGGHHHH! HUUGGHHHHHHHHGGH!", tensing with each cry, lifted the bar barely ONE INCH off the rack, and then instantly dropped it with an earth-shattering crash. Then he went and sat back down. That was his whole set. 10 minutes later he repeated the same thing, and once again 10 minutes after that. At this point everyone in the gym is staring at this stupid asshole, waiting for either the olympic bar to snap or his back. I mean, I've seen idiots at the gym not knowing what they were doing and doing stupid shit, but this guy was something else.

I guess in his deranged mind it was supposed to be a deadlift or something. AllI know is that I was praying that his spine would snap in half like a twig and he'd die painfully right there in his own blood and piss.
