I get to use a gym as part of my rent. But there is no trainer.
What is a good way to learn correct form so I waste less time?
Randy only did one or two reps.
And I've read tons of articles talking about how bad going below parallel is as far as the injury potential goes. It's not really worth the risk.
I used to squat but I stopped becaue I'm tall and it was too hard to stop from leaning forward with every downward rep. Leg presses work just as well for me, anyway.Edit: that is the full squat. On regular squats they tell you to go parallel (this is what I do, well, what I did before I jacked up my back and neck really bad doing BJJ). I was just saying that I don't think it's necessarily bad to go below parallel. But if you're not gonna go parallel, you might as well not be squatting. I used to hate it when retards took up the power rack at my gym doing half squats. They tend to be the same guys that think it's a good idea to do 23 sets.
As for squat retards, there was this one dude at my gym who loaded as many plates on the squat bar as he could fit, un-racked the bar, did one one-inch rep (seriously), then re-racked it and and went "WHOO!!" Every fucking time.
One day he collapsed with the bar and had to go to the hospital. I heard he's okay, but he hasn't been back since. Good.
www.bodybuilding.com has a lot of info. I think they have animated gifs or even videos showing you how to do various exercises.

First day of the circuit workout today.
Went pretty good. I need to add more weight when I do it tomorrow though.
Tell me about it. I had to switch leg days to Tuesday mornings because of jamokes like this hogging the squat racks. I go parallel myself when squatting, never below, mainly to protect my knees and back. I've seen some crazy shit happen to dudes on the squat rack, man.
I've been sparring once a week (mainly boxing, very little kickboxing) and man, I'll tell you, 3 minutes never seemed like such a long time ever before in my life. 3 rounds is about all I can take right now, but I have to seriously improve on my breathing and pacing because I'm tiring myself out faster than necessary. A big help was getting an Everlast mouthpiece that actually allows you to breathe through the mouth if needed.
You need some crazy serious cardio for MMA.

Yeah, and I'm not sure if I can make that type of commitment. I tip my hat to those who can and do. After a rough workout, all I want is an ice cold beer.
I've lost so much weight since joining POW. Obviously I was carrying a good amount of water weight and could have stood to lose some pounds. I've cut up considerably while retaining my muscle, which is nice, but now I have to get the waist pulled in for all my pants, which is money out the pocket. The thing is I'll have to maintain this weight and conditioning or I'll have to buy new pants.
Pants are good incentive that way.
My cardio feels great lately, I've been training and working my ass off.
Last friday we did 7 minute rounds of grappling with submissions, with a one minute break in between each round where you'd switch partners.
We did 63 straight minutes of grappling (not including the breaks) and I felt great, I felt like I could've went all day. Too bad everyone else was tired and wanted to quit.
I finally found a 24 hour gym and I've been back in the game for about a month now. It's surprising that Ive been able to skip a lot of steps regaining my strength but I'm sure muscle maturity has a lot to do with it. I remember one trainer I knew told me squats are the single fastest way to prepare your body for strength training. I believe him.
I run around at work for a good 12 hours a day so I don't really do much cardio but I feel great having lifted for a while now.
