p.s. This movie summed up Captain America's entire movie in like five seconds, so anyone who was doing that whole "watching the other movies to prepare themselves for this one" have yet another reason to skip that flick.

I thought the Cap movie was great fun myself and the other movies just enhance the Avengers all the more but the previous solo movies certainly aren't required viewing or anything.

BTW, movie definitely lived up to my expectations so yeah it was awesome. About the only flaw I can see in it is that aside from their numbers the aliens were mainly used as canon fodder rather than having any sort of highly intelligent tactics or autonomy but then again given how they were "deactivated" they were probably enslaved pawns anyway so it not a huge deal. Would love to see skrulls show up down the line though.

Ultimate Skrulls

The first alien shapeshifters introduced in the Ultimate Marvel Universe are known on Earth as the Chitauri, who financed the Nazi regime in an attempt to conquer the Earth. Their leader Herr Kleiser states that they are called by other names on various worlds, including the name "Skrull". These Chitauri claim to originate in the "lower fourth dimension", and assume others' forms by devouring them; it is unknown what their true form looks like, since the only time one of them is shown in it is after it has been killed and dissected. The Chitauri have a hivelike social order, with the "officer caste" having superhuman strength, durability and high intelligence. They are defeated by the Ultimates.

Another race called Skrulls, physically resembling the Skrulls of the mainstream Marvel universe appear later (led by the billion year old Skrull Emperor, Kl'rt); these Skrulls dislike being confused with the Chitauri, whom they call terrorists. They have extremely advanced technology, but have not been observed to shapeshift. These Skrulls were seen only in an alternate timeline in which Reed Richards contacted their world via his teleporter; the events leading to that timeline were altered in Ultimate Fantastic Four #29 so that contact was never made.

FYI: Opening day it made 80.5 million. It's on track to break the opening weekend record, which currently is 169 million.

Saw it in the afternoon and enjoyed the fuck out of it. The fight scenes were out of this world. I wish it didn't have to end.

Anyone else thought it was funny that Robin from How I Met Your Mother was in the movie and the amount of times "Suit up!" was said? lol

Note to self: Never decide to skip a midnight release or any opening weekend night to catch an earlier show in the day to avoid the lines and nerds and shit because idiots bring their babies and kid with them which is a lot worse. I was rooting for them to show Loki stab more people to scare these children, but I was especially rooting for them to show him rip that guys eye out.

My theater stopped the previews to tell everyone to stay through the whole credits since there were two scenes.
