I just got home from work to see that amount on Boxoffice Mojo.

Insane. Add the Euro/Asian market and its grossed 641.8 mill.

The scene very early on was Cap is using the first punching bag (cut with his WWII flashbacks), and then destroys it? Some awestruck kid in the audience suddenly says "OH WOW!" Filled theater crowd laughed and had smiles on our faces, it was great. Can't imagine not remembering that every time I see that scene again in the future.

This would have been a dream come true for my younger self, I really liked the Avengers growing up. I couldn't imagine a better Avengers movie, then or now.

Can't wait for the sequel featuring Thanos which is nuts.

If only Fantastic Four could be remade to be this good, but I have absolutely no hope of that happening as long as Fox controls the movie rights.

No lie. I screamed Final Justice. The audience laughed.

I liked both of them... and there's something to be said about the fact that the 2nd one is PG in an era where all comic book movies are PG-13 or R. Are they perfect? no... but they are entertaining. While I agree that it sucks that we don't have all the characters in one studio right now, aside from cameos or references, it's not like we'd get much bigger than what Avengers has anyway. Way too much of a hassle to coordinate, too expensive, convoluted, etc. Besides, they'd have to recast Johnny Storm

  6. Joss Whedon did a hell of a job! Great dialog, a ton of great moments, everyone got their chance to shine. Loved Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Hulk was an absolute joy to watch. The place went berserk for him. he stole the show. I tip my hat to Whedon for the phenomenal direction in the final action scene. Incredibly well paced, you knew exactly where and what every Avenger was doing even though they were zipping in and out alone and in groups. The team ups were awesome! Finally got to see Iron Man really show what he can do and it wasn't even in his own movie!

The bar has been set really high with this one.

  7. I liked that Whedon knew their histories. In other words Thor facing off with the Hulk in the Avengers and those two have had epic battle with each other in the comics.

  9. First time in a very long time I came out of the theatre wanting more. Great movie. I'm stunned this ended up being so good. I've enjoyed all the solo Avenger movies so far. Look forward to the blu ray of this which supposedly has at least 30 of the hours plus of deleted scenes. Most of it is Cap though. They really nailed the cast though. They all seem to gel so well together. I really thought this was going to be a giant cluster fuck. Well done Whedon.

Fox is giving Fantastic Four to the guy who directed "Chronicle" which is my 2nd favorite movie of the year so far, so I expect it to be 1000 times better than the 1st two.
