That being said, I'm glad I'm not into Transformers. That shit is expensive.

Yeah it can be, I collected nearly the entire Transformers Dark of the Moon line and I just got burnt out on buying anything else and it sucked that they never released Que and Soundwave in the states although you can get the on ebay. Transformers Prime I couldn't give a shit about and it sucks harder even now with the whole creature/extra plastic junk gimmick.
It CAN be expensive, as Will said, but it's honestly not that much more expensive than any other hobby IF you have a sense of restraint. I rarely buy them nowadays, because I'm centering on MPs for the time being, and I've only purchased a few of the TF Prime toys. I don't mind spending $100 - $150 whenever an MP hits, because it's not that often. Every 8 or 9 months on the average.
I understand you, man. After the first movie, I learned my lesson about those line of toys. The only ones I kept were Barricade (especially the Human Alliance version) and Bumblebee, and the main Seeker jets. Everyone else, I pretty much got rid of. I made a good bit of my money back that way, enough to pay for the next couple of MPs I purchased. As for the Prime toys, I collect the 3 Jets across lines, so I figured that Skywarp and TC were coming along once Starscream got released, so I got him. I picked up Wheeljack, Smokescreen, Knock-Out and a PRID Vehicon (the latter of which being one of the best Transformers ever designed IMHO), and a Shockwave. The rest of the line doesn't appeal to me because of the Beast Hunter motif which has them all geared up like some Mad Max Road Warrior shit.

Recently discovered a Phoenix Toy and Comic collector store that is open every Saturday. Its a decent sized place that has permanent businesses inside the specialize in certain toys while average joes can rent a table to sell their stuff as well.
Stumbled upon brand new original Power Rangers, Transformers, GI Joes, Ninja Turtles, etc, etc. It was a total blast to see this stuff from my childhood. Anything I should be on the look out for next visit?
