I doubt it. Those bootleg art toys are super low print run with no promotion. They could always say "parody" and get away with it. Not worth legal fees.
Hell, these publishers straight up sell at ComicCon next to corporate toy producers and nobody says a thing.
I don't know about Mattel, but Hasbro is perfectly fine with it as long as they aren't straight up bootlegging a mold. Like if you released your own Optimus Prime using your own engineering and molds and just called it something different they are fine. If you're selling bootleg G1 Primes, then they'll have a problem (although it still happens a lot.)
Yeah, someone has been pumping out g1 boxed bootlegs. I'm glad I got most of what I want before that started.
I kinda like that I can get a bootleg G1 prime that is pretty close to perfect for like $30 in 2017.
