Thread: Golf, yo!

    Golf, yo!

Anyone here golf? It's the sport of gentlemen and one negro.

I never really picked up a golf club before last March when I decided to go to the driving range with a friend who golfs all the time. Since then, I've thrown down close to a G on all the driving range trips, clubs and shit, let alone course trips.

Only playing for such a short amount of time without no lessons ever, I can't control a driver for the life of me less I slice the ball further than distance. I'm hit or miss with my fairway woods and hybrids, and inconsistent with my lower irons, though I actually think I'm really good with my wedges and 7-9 irons, and not too bad a short/green game either.

Then there was Friday when me and my pops took off to play the local course.

OMG it was hell. He just unwrapped his new $400D driver and had the best game I've ever seen him hit. Me? The best ball I hit all day hit a tree after I happy gilmored it in frustration. I didn't tee a single ball off well, and almost all my iron shots with bouncing pieces of shit that got no loft. It was really the most frustration I've ever experienced. I practice off the mat so much, but yet it didn't translate at all this week. Coming off the best game of my life, too. Gay.

Even the best amateurs out there suck for the most part. That doesn't make it any less frustrating.

I'm seriously considering it, but I'm working full time until August. I may take a few lessons in the 2 weeks I have before school in August, or wait til I get back to school and take it there, since we (the campus) are one of the best courses in the area.

I golf at least twice a week, get pissed every time, but still come back for more.

Also, there is more than one negro in professional golf, you're a bigot.

This course in particular kicks my ass, I play it every time I work with Heinz.

That's the thing. Every time out there I get so pissed, but hitting just one perfect ball an outing makes it absolutely worth it. It's one of the best feelings in sports, just because of how difficult it is to do.

You better get in quick, those courses fill up 15 minutes after early registration.

My goal in golf is to one day be good enough to play Bethpage Black in NY. The first hole has a disclaimer that the course is for experts only.

That shit filled up before I was even permitted to make my schedule (we go in credit order) @ 77 credits. Not taking it next semester, and the semester after that is in London. I'll have 107 credits by then, so I damn well better get in my final semester.

  9. I'd love to go fire a 140 at Bethpage Black.

I'd be impressed by your 140. I'd bring 5 packs of balls and be out by the 9th.
