If there was a Palestinian Ghandi or a Palestinian Martin Luther King, there probably wouldn't be the mess there is now. This shit doesn't work for them, and never will.

It's not just desperate, it's foolish. I'm sympathetic to their plight, but brainwashing children to wish for genocide and martyrdom is indefensible, and certainly isn't helping their cause any.

Black smoke rising from a building... Looks cozy. They should roast marshmallows.

I've been to Rammallah. They have roofs over their head, but to call it comfy is a lie. They piss in buckets and throw them out the windows. They live without electricity or plumbing in much of the city. They have a very poor quality of life, no matter how you slice it.

  2. Frog: I still find it difficult to call a place as Nahr al-Bared a "camp", sorry. Camps imply tents in my world. They are abusing the term "refugee camp" for propaganda reasons. I'm not talking about quality of life here.

I agree that brainwashing children is indefensible, even when done by a mega-star, such as Farfour.

  3. Fuck. I can't believe I let my subscription to the Palestinian Channel run out now.

Oh well. It was usually just Everybody Loves Raymond reruns anyway.

Actually there is a Palestine-Israel non-violent resistance movement, but generally no one gives a shit. Remember that girl American that tried to stop a bulldozer from destroying some Palestinian's house? Yeah she got killed

What the article doesn't mention is she was apart of ISM. Rachael Corrie was shipped in to try to put a white American face in front of the bulldozers the IDF was using to knock down buildings as a part of collective punishment going on at the time.

Generally, the IDF doesn't care, nor do the political parties of Israel, human shields are inconvenient politically but from a calculus point of view, it means less people sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, one less woman to breed and create children who would speak out and is apart the acceptable genocide going on there. Its a good tactic to kill peaceful protesters, because they'll turn violent too once they realize that peace won't come with protests. It'll come when one side or the other is dead or so beatdown and exhausted they'll offer a surrender like Germany or Japan did.

As for a Ghandi or MLK in the middle east, remember leaders are killed often and hard for opposing the Israelis or the PA.

The best survival mechanism in the middle east is to be non-political and not discuss any politics, internal or international. When you travel to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq or Iran (yes i know not technically ME), the state department will advise you as such.

Beacause there's too many of them being assholes. Which doesn't "work for" anyone.

  7. I'm just going to say, "Holy shit that video is nuts," and "even at age three, I didn't hate Decepticons as much as that three-year-old girl hates Jews." HOW DOES THIS REGION OF THE WORLD EXIST?

  8. You have near systemic unemployment, disenfranchisement, and a bunch of crazy religious loonies around and see what you get. Does it make it right? No. But, to say that these people are just born nuts and full of hated is just wrong.
    Time for a change

  9. They're certainly not born crazy--take these kids and raise them in a real society and they'll turn out like any other kid. But I don't think you can deny that they're full of hatred.

Obviously there is a big difference between KZ camps and refugee camps. One means to kill you, the other means to keep you alive.
