Thread: the 'spread the flink love' thread

  1. the 'spread the flink love' thread

my FlinkCD came today, what a fun, fun game. spell mixing and play mechanics to boot seem pretty deep. well worth my purchase. not the easiest game to find, but i dont think its very well known so it wasnt very expensive.

I like Flink although not to the extent that Halverson raved about it in Gamefan. I'm not big on Euro-mascot-ish platform games though.

Wasn't it made by only two people?

  4. Yep, it was crafted by the two guys who made Lomax on PSX. Flink is a great looking game with some solid control and gameplay but am I missing the save/password option? I've never seen one and it's just sick to expect people to beat a Mario World style game in one sitting. *-neo

  5. Halversons ravings are why i bought it

it was programmed by two guys from Norway i think.

its a platformer with some incredibly deep play mechanics. for example, you have to pick up a rock, carry it over to a catipult, step on one side and throw the rock to the other to bounce yourself up. lots of cool little quirky stuff like that.

hop on enemies heads to kill them ala mario, or find different items throughout the game and mix them together (in the right order) to create spells which can be used, or read some of the scrolls you find laying around. you play as an apprentice magician who is cool and unique looking, its all light hearted though, not dark.

the graphics are amazing hand drawn bliss and are very detailed.

lots and lots of levels, and its very difficult, but not frustratingly so.

if you like action/platformers i reccommend it. think a hybrid of super mario brothers/astal/golden axe

mine is the SegaCD version, but there is also a Flink for the genesis which i assume is basically the same game

    i got mine from ebay.

yea, the lack of a save/pswd option sucks, i just bulk up on lives playing the first level over and over.
