Thread: Ellis Island Name Butchering

  1. When our ancestors arrived at Ellis Island, they came with the name Leonardo, but the immigration people changed it to Leotardo. ... They took our proud Italian heritage, and named us after a ballet costume. Why? Because they were stupid, that's why.

  6. LOL my dad is scottish and welsh and my mom is 100% greek.

  7. OMG IT'S LIKE WE'RE THE SAME PERSON

  8. you want ice cream?

  10. I don't understand why so many asians change their names. My friend Alan was originally Li Yun Hao, which isn't a difficult or goofy name at all.
If anyone needs to change their names, it's those damned Sri Lankans. I can't deal with all those 20-syllable handles.
