Liberals should support the spreading of democracy, secular governments, and free markets but they don't. Conservatives should support small government, minimizing government spending, and keeping government out of the social arena but they don't.

    Well, it's more like they automatically assume I'm supporting an agenda as soon as I say anything negative about Islam. In the example I mentioned, I could be like, "I really think Muslim women should have the same property ownership rights blah blah blah," and then I'll be told, "You're just using equality as a cover for an underlying neocon agenda to eliminate Islam."

    It was funny to me, then, when icarusfall gave me the, "I hate everyone equally bullshit," label, since it's the polar opposite of what I usually get.

    religion is a sacred cow, people feel threatened by proxy, say anything bad about a religious belief and people get scared and defensive. Thus stopping with the listening
