I've been wanting to start to try my hand at magic for quite some time. Recently I've been looking online and there are tons and tons of websites. Some of them are complete money grabs (so it seems) but I do wish to start.
Does anyone here do magic, or know what way is the best to start? I'm hoping there is some sort of DVD kit you can get with a few items to perform some tricks (cards, balls etc) and a DVD to get you started.
I see a really cool David Stone DVD set that teaches you roughly 40 awesome tricks but since I don't know how to do anything other than a coin trick I figure I better start at the beginning.
Can anyone help?

I know that most tricks involve getting people to pay attention to what you want them too.
I know some basics of magic, it's just it seems very hard to pick the correct place to start. A nice beginner's DVD would be great. I don't want to levitate over the Luxor just yet. I'd rather just pull a deck of cards out of my mouth.

I actually found a great site - elusionist.com and they sell and teach a ton of great beginners tricks and have DVDs for sale.
