You don't own the computers you use at work, they are used with the consent of the company. They can monitor you as they see fit. Now if you bring in a personal laptop, that's a different story, which is why most companies won't let you use one. Including my new job, but I'm fighting that.

I was informed this morning by someone who's not my boss at either the place I'm contracted to nor the place I actually work for that that my last day there will January 18th due to a shift in the contract (hooray for the higher-ups that actually do give a shit about me). When I got home I received a phone call that the place I had an interview with yesterday is giving me the job and they want me to start on the 7th. It consists of greater growth potential, more tools, programs, and equipment to learn to how to use (yay no more stagnation in my skills), almost double the pay, and almost half the drive.
