I worked every night this week on an assortment of projects of mine so tonight I did jack shit and played Assassin's Creed and ate gummy worms (and chocolate soufflé's with butterscotch sauce) and drank and did nothing. It felt really good. Back to the grindstone tomorrow though.

I got a new pair a few months back. After a week of wearing them, the soft material on the inside of the heel was worn away to the point that the hard, support material behind it was scraping up my heel real bad.

Unfortunately no. Although I do have a pair I bought on my way to VA Beach last year (beginning of August) that have served me well almost every day and haven't worn down in the least.

I think he might be saying they aren't the same. Vans haven't been made well since the first pair of Geoff Rowley's hit, and Airwalks haven't been worth shit since the early 1990's.

Chuck Taylors are still made the exact same way as you remember them... except now they're made in Asia and sold by Nike. I just got a pair of Chucks for $30 after hunting high and low for weeks. (Found them at the Mondawmin mall in West Baltimore. There was only one other cracker in the entire joint, and she came with me. Everyone looked at us all funny.) $30 is still too high, but its better than $40-$55.

Last week, my mom's cat (only 4 years old) was really really sick. Had some intestinal problem they couldn't properly diagnose and he was definitely dying. She couldn't afford exploratory surgery, but she had him put on a feeding tube. He's doing a lot better today, off of the tube and interested in food for the first time in almost 2 weeks. They think he'll be okay now. She just got a second kitten recently and the two were getting along finally right before the older one got sick; I'm glad he's gonna stick around now. Awesome little cat, the sick one, I helped pick him out years back. Much better mood today knowing he won't die young.
