I haven't spent much time in the new Mustangs, but the throw back dash is a real turn off. It feels like your sitting behind a plastic wall with a window at the top. Truckish is a good way to describe it.

And the ergonomics of American cars have just been shit in general. Putting buttons, knobs and levers in the dumbest places. It's like you have to work around your own body, totally uncomfortable that makes you think the interior was thrown together last. A very general statement, but that's really from just getting into American (rental) cars. I think it's been a little over 30 years since anyone in my immediate family has owned an American car. My moms Camaro (sold when my sister was born in '75) was the last if I remember right.

You guys probably know that I'm pretty gay for Vanson motorcycle gear, but seriously, if you want a great jacket, you should look into them. They're made here in the States, they're built like tanks, and if you wreck in them, they're solid enough to get repaired, not replaced. You'll pay an arm and a leg for them new, but on Ebay, you can get a jacket for $150 or so if you're lucky.

I fail to see how it looks really any crappier than those. If the materials feel like tuperware, I understand, but you can't really pick that up in a picture.

You know people will go out of their way to discredit a modern domestic. The Japs have out marketed the domestics now they could probably shit in a metal can, put four wheels on it and people would say it's better than a big 3 product.

Chevy Volt ... unveiled.

The center stack draws a lot of attention for its shape, unique touch interface and bright white surfacing. Volt buyers will be able to choose from several colors for the center stack, however, including white, metallic black, and even green. The gear shifter fits right into the center stack and pulls out to put the Volt into reverse, neutral or drive. The Volt is also keyless, and the driver needs only the key fob in his pocket to start the electric motor.

That's actually derivative aerodynamic styling. Touch sensitive controls = bad ass, the volt has a LOT of shit the Prius doesn't. Except for maybe interior space the Volt fuckles the Prius up and down. Of course it probably won't matter because people will eat whatever Toyota shits out these days and spew piss and vinegar all over the domestics.

Even if the domestics made Ferrari's at Malibu prices they wouldn't get a fair shake.
