Strange times we live in. Supposedly Malcolm Bricklin will get back into the car business too selling re-fitted hydrogen enhanced luxury cars. Go figure eh? Will DeLorean and Tucker come back as zombies to save the day?

i completely wrote a paper on John Zachary DeLorean and Preston Thomas Tucker and the DeLorean DMC 12 and the Tucker Torpedo. I was super lucky because that British car magazine i liked to read had an issue on the DeLorean.
That Tucker movie was really good too.

You don't. They handle like shopping carts and the stock PRV engine is a turd crate of the highest caliber.

What was the paper about? The cars they made or their failed business ventures? Do you still have it?

I wish i had the paper, but that was more than 10 years ago. It might be somewhere, but i wouldn't know where.
It was just a compare and contrast on the men and the cars. I don't remember much about it besides that i got a B on it and was told it was a very interesting subject.

Im just saying, its like the episode of top gear were James drives a Contach for the first time, having lusted after the car as a child. You sometimes, never ever want to meet your heroes in person, you wind up feeling empty and disapointed.

The DMC is just that. I've driven and worked on one. It would be fine if you could find one for $1200 and have junk yards brimming with parts to work with, but you can't. The inside feels like it was made at home depot circa 1983, the stainless steel body skin is a nightmare to work on, the engine sucks, the driving position is terrible and the ride makes my '86 Daytona feel like a Lotus.


The DeLorean is super cool, but best viewed from afar, and with a healthy heart of childhood wonderment. If you experence one in person, all those childhood memories are ruined.

Enough with the cars, man. If you're going to rock bike avatars all the time it's time to move up.

"Moving up" is a fallacy. My bike is paid for, cheap to insure, and gets me from San Francisco to Seattle. I'd love to get something faster--Triumph Street Triple, KTM SMT--but at the moment I'd rather keep the money and just ride the tits off my 250.

I could never, ever , ever, ever go back to a 250. Ever. Trust me, that Street Triple would be like going from being Robin to Superman. Those bikes are hot as hell.
