Thread: Wondering about the GXTV

  1. Wondering about the GXTV

Something I've been wondering about for awhile now, besides the nice audio (for a TV anyway), was there anything special about the GXTV video-wise? I realize Samsung screwed up by not putting anything past composite video into it, but did it have any kind of special video capabilities? I only ask because this is what I'm currently using for my primary game TV atm.

  2. We actually still use them as our display tvs at work.
If there are any special capabilities. I've never encountered them.
If you connect using RF, you have to jack into the lower plug, and press the "GX Mode" button.
You can also set a few different video settings (color, contrast, brightness, etc) to memory and cycle through them.
It's a nice 2D tv, as the screen is so small, but I refuse to play any modern systems on it.

  3. I've heard the speakers aren't shielded properly and cause the onscreen colors to distort. Any truth to that?

  4. We've had three of them running 8-10 hours a day for eight years.
No distortion yet. (though the left speaker on one tv has died).

  5. that's weird. the left speaker on mine died as well. (but that was because the wiring was so close to the door hinge that it eventually cut it in half).
