I just don't get why big companies even bother with this bullshit to begin with. It's like they just have to find something "important" to waste their money on.

interesting, the watermark is in the audio itself? so it is still there when you convert to analog?
bleh, come up with a filter that will hunt for it and remove it.
The only thing I can think of them doing to make this hard, would be putting some sort of random number in each watermark to make it different for each and every song. But why go to so much trouble?
