GUN Sequel Teased in Proving Ground Demo?
Looks like the Hawkman's got some 'splaining to do.
    By Andrew Hayward, 09/12/2007
Intrepid observers skating around today's Tony Hawk's Proving Ground demo for Xbox 360 stumbled upon a curious sight on the walls of the above-ground subway station in the Philly Slums -- a poster for "GUN: Magruder's Ghost".

Joystiq first reported the sighting this afternoon, and sure enough, we were able to locate it within the demo with little effort (just head up the massive stairway down the hill from the starting point). The poster depicts Thomas Magruder, the final boss from the original GUN, and bears the tagline, "Sometimes a man will shoot back... even from beyond the grave."

Is this confirmation of an impending sequel or simply an in-joke based on Neversoft's dormant original IP? Daily news followers will recall a similar situation popping up around the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for Wii, which contained a message purportedly confirming the development of the long-rumored Metroid Dread for Nintendo DS.

We sent a request for comment to Neversoft and will update if something comes along.

I hope this is true. The first game had a lot of potential; they created a great "GTA with horses" engine and then did pretty much nothing with it.

  2. i liked the first game but it always fealt severely unfinished and thrown together.

  3. I loved Gun and would eat up a sequel. Give me more towns, more places to explore, and more bad guys to capture/kill.

  4. I'm a total sucker for westerns (I own Gun and Call of Juarez on 360 and a bunch of western themed stuff on pc) so yea...I'm certainly interested in a sequel to Gun. Bigger world, more choices (be a good guy, bandit..etc), rob trains, be a bounty hunter, own a brothel or saloon..etc. Lots of gunplay and co-op online gameplay..bring it on!

I am really surprised that there isn't a GTA western clone by now.
