I know this isn't cooking, but I picked up a small tub of roasted red pepper pesto yesterday at one of the largest 'tourist' apple picking farms in the area and it was amazing, a thin layer smeared on toast... delicious, but I am paying for it right now.
I got paid to make this for a friend's mother's birthday.

I think pie crust is supposed to be flaky though.
Also: that pie looks yummy.

Coincidentally, we went on our annual apple picking trip and my wife made a kick ass apple pie for me. Very tasty and the homemade crush is A+. Only problem is we still have about 15-20 apples left.
Suggestions for recipes for her to try?
apple cobbler, applesauce, and apple crunch muffins.

Damn, IP, that pie looks good. Next time, see if you can keep the top up without putting a ton of apples inside. I don't know how my mother does it, but she makes the pies and the middle is always up like two or three inches and it doesn't fall. Makes no sense. But then, I suck at baking, so maybe it's easy.
does she poke a hole in it for the air to get out?
