Thread: Cooking TNL Part II

  1. I'm in Greenville SC. You're more than welcome to crash for a few days if you'd like to. We have an extra room.
    Boo, Hiss.

I'm heading to Athens next month too. Do you know any good resturants there?

If you're asking me, I have no idea. I've never been. When are you headed over?

  5. I've been making random nonsense lately and it's all worked out pretty well; right now I'm testing my luck with Nathan's Hot dogs wrapped in two Biscuits with cracked pepper on top.

They're baking now. Wish me luck.

I believe what you made was a form of "pigs in a blanket." Except since it was a Nathan's dog, I guess "cows in a blanket"

  7. I prefer "West Coaster fuckin with Southern Food".

    Hotdogs are horrifying.
    Boo, Hiss.

  9. If I had more hours in the day, I'd pick up cooking. Sadly, working four jobs really is time-consuming.

How does one go about making their own hamburgers? Do you just buy ground beef and squish it into round discs?

You could but it would be nasty. I use a mixture of hambuger (at least 90% fat), an egg and some bread crumbs to hold it together. Things to add for spice:

    -garlic powder
    -pepper
    -diced onions
-you can put cheese in the center of the hamburger like maybe blue cheese
    -whatever you like really

Don't handle them too much just lightly shape into balls and then press into a disk shape. Don't mash down on them with a spatula it presses out too much juice.
