If you throw in a good processor you should be completely golden.

6850 imo, though with that you'd need a new board that supports 1333fsb.

  3. Hell, OC that 4300 a little further. Those suckers can go up to like 3.6Ghz pretty easily.

  4. Yeah, but you can take a 6850 to 3.6Ghz with pretty much any after market heatsink and then you'd be running at 1333fsb instead of 1066fsb.

That's a pretty sizable difference; especially when you figure in how there's people out there that have clocked 6850's to over 4.3Ghz using nothing but air to cool. That's just fucking crazy.

  5. I threw everything on high and it sorta chugged. The main problem was ZOMGTEXTURES NOT SHOWING UP.

  6. Jesus, then post there instead of creating a thread every time something happens in a game that 10 of us are going to play.

Well I"m waiting on the SP demo before I do any upgrades for the game.

As far as OC the 4300 more, I havent had the need to do so with all the current games out right now, and it performed well on the Crysis beta.

Yea the left some of the high rez textures out of the beta. Which is why the high setting really isn't high :-/

Hey I was thinking about just grabbing a QE6600, the price is looking very good, and I'm sure Crysis will take advantage of the 4 cores, not sure how well though.

  10. Even when people have overclocked the Q66600 to 3.4Ghz and 1400fsb it still just barely performs better than a stock 6850 when it comes to games. The quad is great if you're rendering huge files or doing a shit ton of multitasking, but the 6850 is much more powerful for gaming.
