Thread: Official Wii Thread

  1. The SCUMM fans are also quite the cult. I'm sure they'd buy up a few thousand.

I've been dying to play this for some time. Is there a service like GameTap offering it, or will I have to piss off PBMax and steal it?

  3. Lucasarts still sells the discs I believe in their Adventure game collection.

Edit: Nevermind they don't offer it anymore. Seems like now the only option is to steal all those old adventure games since no one wants to sell them anymore.

If you're using SCUMMVM to play games you don't own on Wii then yes you are stealing shit.

Most definitely. ScummVM won't work without them. If you would like to buy these games, we suggest you browse Ebay. Do not ask the ScummVM team where you can download the full versions of LucasArts games. These requests will be ignored.

    GameTZ

Go home and be a family man.

  5. That reminds me, I really should hunt down Full Throttle and The Dig. I think that would pretty much complete my LucasArts SCUMM collection.

Oh please. So giving money to a random ebay dude is somehow morally superior to downloading a game no longer being sold? Try and join us in the 2000's someday.

No one is telling you whether or not you should feel bad about it, but the legality is pretty clear cut, i.e. not an opinion.

Ah, but you quickly move into grey areas.

For example, I own all of the lucasarts adventure games, but they're in a box in my parents house in the us. Is it illegal for me to download them?

I also bought all the Leisure Suit Larry games, yet I no longer have the discs, is it also illegal to download them? I've paid legal tender for the games already.

  9. I think there's a distinction between what is legally right and what is ethically right. It's illegal and unethical to download a game you don't own. Howver, I think that it's illegal and ethical to download a game you do own in some form that is currently inaccessible.

Also: LucasArts really, really needs to just dump their adventure games on Steam. Or on Wii. Or something.
