Lucasarts still sells the discs I believe in their Adventure game collection.
Edit: Nevermind they don't offer it anymore. Seems like now the only option is to steal all those old adventure games since no one wants to sell them anymore.

For example, I own all of the lucasarts adventure games, but they're in a box in my parents house in the us. Is it illegal for me to download them?
I also bought all the Leisure Suit Larry games, yet I no longer have the discs, is it also illegal to download them? I've paid legal tender for the games already.

I think there's a distinction between what is legally right and what is ethically right. It's illegal and unethical to download a game you don't own. Howver, I think that it's illegal and ethical to download a game you do own in some form that is currently inaccessible.
Also: LucasArts really, really needs to just dump their adventure games on Steam. Or on Wii. Or something.
