By the time casual party games(for girls!) dominate the industry TNL won't care about the lack of new FPSs because they'll be too busy rocking out on Super Bands 1000(for girls!).

See the problem with this idea is the 2-d stuff of yore was replaced by quality (at the time) titles. I think it's safe to say all we have seen so far for the "casual" market has been shit. The current genres might have to worry if these new crop added anything, or were even not horrible. But that simply isn't the case. A lot of the same gamers who loved the 2-D stuff begrudgingly accepted 3-D. I just can't see your average Halo/GTA guy getting behind wii fit. Those genres aren't going anywhere.

Right. The only possible way that games like Halo and GTA will fall out of favor is if the millions of people who buy games like that now decide to stop. That has absolutely nothing to do with games like Wii Fit finding success, so it's stupid when people complain about stuff like that ruining gaming. If enough people actually do get tired of the GTAs and Halos then they won't care that they're gone and will have moved on to other kinds of games. Like what? Who knows, but following the conversation it's easy if we just fill in that blank with party games like Rock Band/Guitar Hero and Wii Sports.

Tenchu 4 was announced for Wii, and some sites are saying the famitsu article mentions 5, and 6 as well. Supposedly Ubi Soft is already set to publish it in the west.

There is some standing in the idea that if crap sells (and it has on the wii) that developers wont try to make anything that's actually worth playing. But since that approach has only worked with wii (and cell phones), it's kind of a moot point.

Except that people buy PS3 and SBoss Three Sitty too, so shit is selling regardless of whether it's on Wii or it's in a bag labeled "Steaming Pile of PS3". Everyone save your money and buy something useful, like better health insurance. The year is 2008 and in the distant year 2008, video games suck.

My gf's Mom got her Dad a Wii for his birthday. The Grandpa had played it at physical therapy and was talking about it which gave her the idea. I bet they'll never touch it after the first week. lol non-gamers!
