Thread: Pages getting "stuck" while loading images

  1. Pages getting "stuck" while loading images

This started up a day or two ago for me. Basically, a few threads are getting "stuck" trying to load certain images, as the page will just cut off at the post that it can't load.

I tried IE and Firefox, and both browsers had the same problem. Am I the only one experiencing this?

    Examples:

post #12, right after the line of text that reads "Whether..."

    stops after post #10

  2. it happens, just reload the page

(the http process stops processing your request and just up and quits, hence the random page "sticking")

  3. Between this, red Xs, and pornographic anti-hotlinking images, we have good reason to go to an attached-images only policy.

  4. I am all for implementing that change.

Refreshing the page did nothing to fix the problem, btw.

  5. or just restrict remote linking to imagehsack or other image hosting sites

if it's not working after reloading, then the http connection is stalling out on you from another site most likely

  6. Yeah, the culprit in that first thread seems to be rockdetector.com

Interestingly though, the page still stalls after I went into my user cp and turned images off; then it just says "transferring data from the-nextlevel.com"

  7. Ok, I tried this on my roomate's computer and it still hangs on the same spots.

Maybe it has something to do with the connection on our campus network.

It is. I wanted to say it right after you created the thread, but I wanted confirmation from someone else. Its your connection. Since your at a campus you can't ask the ISP to increase the bandwidth. But that's what it is. ALSO ... sounds like someone one i leeching off the connection.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

  10. This started happening to me.

Firefox just hangs up and I can't refresh or anything, just have to quit.
