Thread: Official Halo 3 Thread

  1. OMG I WANT IT. $10 BUT I WANT IT.

  2. $10 for 3 maps. LOL

  3. I'm not digging the $10, yeah, but I don't think it's as terrible as everyone makes it out to be (I think $6-8 was better for sure). That happens to be right after my birthday so I'll probably buy it as my gift to myself or something. Don't know Sidewinder at all since I wasn't a H1 player.

  4. Yeah, I think I'm going to bite on this map pack. Just so I can play around on that Sidewinder remake. It's too fucking awesome looking to pass up. Plus it's not like I haven't wasted $10 on way worse shit than that (Bomberman, Boom Boom Rocket, etc..).

  5. Just to put things in perspective, the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map pack was released in July 2005 for $20 and it contained a game update, nine multiplayer maps, and some bonus content. Why do six Halo 3 maps cost $20, especially since those maps can only be obtained through cost-cutting digital distribution which is partially subsidized by our annual membership fee?

Also, while looking for a list of maps in the Multiplayer Map pack, I found this interesting tidbit in IGN's Halo 2 guide page.

It wasn't until I played the first Halo that I realized I had an alter ego dwelling inside me. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I'm mild-mannered Mark Ryan Sallee. But put an Xbox controller in my hand and flip on Halo and I become the much-feared AngelBeGood. This AngelBeGood is an absolute killer on the multiplayer battlefield, and he's thankfully contributed his expertise to this wonderful Halo 2 guide.

  6. Unfortunately for us 800 points for a map pack is the standard now. Whether we like it or not. The CoD4 map pack is 800 points for 3 maps too.

  7. That doesn't make it any better. I am not buying them. Gears was 4 maps right for 800 points? That was BS too but I bought them b/c the 360 so new and exciting for me last year.

What was really infuriating about the Gears maps was that Epic wanted to give them away for free. I would have accepted a $5 compromise, but Microsoft was adamant in charging $10 for four maps.

And it's four COD4 maps for $10, Brand. Still won't buy them though.

  9. Lots of things have been overpriced this generation, we just have to deal with it. Whether you buy something or not is up to you, but nothing is going to change the direction industry pricing is going (UP UP UP).

4 maps? NOICE. I'll definitely be buying those.
