Dropping a Class after the Drop Date

not to go into to much detail, but does anyone have any experience with dropping a class after the drop date.

  2. Depends on the school and college. If its big, its not a big deal, sign the forms, ask the teacher to backdate your dropping and you MAY get a partial or full refund. Undergrad i did this a few time, but in my current school can't drop past the 2nd week without failing and losing your money without a serious excuse.

  3. LOL!!!! This describes many semesters for me. For example, last semester I was signed up for 2 classes, never attended a single one, and was dropped by both professors at the LAST fucking moment.

Other times, I had gone for half the semester and realized that I either A) hated the class entirely or B) couldn't stand the people/teacher and tried to get out late in the game. Complete waste of time if you ask me, if you're in it long enough you may as well just finish it, because you know if you ever have to take the class again and you get the same prof then you are absolutely undeniably fucked in the ass for that semester.

Either way, I never cared, and got dropped and or asked to be dropped and possibly lost financial aid in the course of it all, but to me it never really mattered. Community College isn't that expensive anyways.

Oh, and school is gay. Totally.

  4. uhhh, theres a drop date, then there is a drop period where you have to have a really REALLY good excuse to not get penalized, the last of which if its not a personal tragedy or health problems you will get a WF.

depends on the school, thats how mine works. If your past the no penalization drop date, you got to plead your case.

  5. Well the bigger Q is: what are you looking to stop by dropping? Bad grade? Won't pass? Need the cash?

  6. I dunno any schools that refund your money for dropping after drop date, so where the hell did you go Mars? Hook a brutha up.

Here's how we do it at UF:

We have the regular drop date, usually within a week of classes starting, where you can drop without any repercussions, and you get your money back.

After this, you have to "Withdraw". You have 2 of these for lower division, and 2 for upper division. It's kind of a pain in the ass; you have to get a form signed by your college and various admissions people whose job is to be difficult. You don't get money back, but it doesn't count towards your GPA or anything.

Of course, sometimes they'll give you an exception if you have a good reason. I haven't had a good reason yet.

That's all they need to know. If you don't get a full refund, call PETA.

    I withdrew from English 101.

My fucktard adviser never told me I placed out of it with my SAT scores.

I spent 2 months in that shit and procrastinated a 10 page paper til the last day and found out I didn't need to take it. I dropped it within minutes.

  10. where did you go Rich?
