Kind of how I'm feeling right now. I mean, I loved Pac-Man CE. To a ridiculous degree. Utterly and completely loved it. What was great about CE was that it always felt like Pac-man. Yes, it was updated, and had some new concepts, but it was still Pac-man. It ended up exactly what it was: the true sequel to the original game. It gave modern sensibilities to the concept of Pac-man, yet was still fantastic in how it created so much depth gameplay-wise from a concept that was so simple.
DX is... it's something very enjoyable so far, but it just doesn't have that perfect mix of depth and simplicity that CE had for me. There's just always so much overload: so many game modes, so many choices to make, so many options, so many scores, so many game features, so many ghosts. Combos in CE were so satisfying because you had to see how long of a string you could put together off of only the standard four ghosts. It's like the fighting games where every hit you add to a combo you have to work for, versus the MvC-style gameplay where everybody has a 99-hit combo from one joystick command.
Not saying it's a bad game, because it is no way is. It's just, so far, that magic I felt with CE isn't there. If only I could somehow take DX's replays system and put it into CE though!
