It's a pretty poor review. It sounds like he tried playing it all the way through in single player given all the bitching about the difficulty and "ineffective guns."

The enemies go down a lot quicker in multiplayer.

Then the reviewer complains about the controls like he's never played a shooter before that wasn't running a dual joystick setup. The controls are fine for anyone who's played a Metal Slug or Contra game.

I don't see how IGN can give Shoot Many Robots a 4.5 when they also gave Hard Craps Uprising a 8.5.

    I would probably rate them a 7 and a 6, respectively.

What do I have, like 4 thumbs? How can shoot be one face button and melee another? This is crazy!

That review blew up my brain when it came out. All the worst reviews are always IGN.

Because IGN is one person. You're a genius.

HCU is also a good game, stop being bad.

I would put money on it being a part of the steam sale.

I'm guessing $15 for a free to play PC game.

  10. That would be kind of hilarious, though it might make at least a tiny bit of sense if it's like the retail packages for some games like LoL where you start off with a ton of cash items and upgrades.

DFO is a decent little game if fairly grindy (with a horrible town layout), so I would probably get it if other people played. I haven't checked in a while but it would also be nice to not have to also run two or three third party programs just to have proper window scaling and joystick input.
