Stuff to do in Asia

My friends are getting married in Delhi at the beginning of Dec. I'm going, but I'm having a terrible time trying to plan what to do while I'm there. I can go and stay as long as I want, and go where ever as long as it's safe. Anything I do other than my current plans in India I will have to travel alone for, so keep that in mind. I couldn't convince any of my friends to drop out of school or quit their jobs to go with me

. I have plenty of money to enjoy my trip, but will be traveling on a budget. I speak no Asian/Indian languages, aside from knowing how to say "shut up mother fucker!" in hindi.

So far my plans are:
1. I am going to spend a week in Delhi for the wedding and sight seeing in northern India. This includes the Taj Mahal and other India stuff.

2. Then I'll be in Goa for a week on the beach and partying.

3+. ????

I figure since I'm there I should get out and see some more of Asia. Tentatively I'd like to spend an additional week or more somewhere else like Thailand, Nepal, Japan, or Australia even. I just don't know what to do, the options are overwhelming me. I've been procrastinating making the travel arrangements, but I really need to book everything soon.

I've always wanted to go to Japan, but I've been told it's out of the way and expensive. If I went there I guess I'd try to visit Kyoto. Some mountain monasteries would by interesting. I've also always liked koala bears. As you can see, I am really confused, but this is a great opportunity to take an incredible trip so I want to know what others would do.

Australia is even more out of the way, and it might be a little too similar to what you're used to. I'd be glad to act as a tour guide for Sydney though lol.
