Why spend money I don't have?

I only ever use credit on gas (for the credit rating), online shopping where I can't get around it and big purchases like computers that require a bigger limit than my debit will allow. Other than that I don't use it at all.

I've never been charged for using my bank card for a transaction except at a foreign atm. I build credit by paying bills and a car payment. Fuck all that other noise.

Credit cards help a lot towards credit rating. From what I understand a lot of insurance companies will actually lower your rate if you can prove that you are paying all of your bills on time and have an excellent rating. I pay 160 dollars a month for insurance since establishing myself as an excellent.

Credit cards are not the evil everyone says imo.

I wouldn't say idiots, just irresponsible. Many people aren't taught responsible money habits and have to learn them the hard way.

Credit cards got more of a rap for being evil from our parents years. When you got out of high school there was no way in hell you were getting credit card (or at least it's not something that was common). And the companies didn't worry so much about fraud as they do now, nor were they competing for you business and offering things like rewards. And the slightest mistake on your part would give them the opportunity to rape you 6 ways till Tuesday (Sunday?). Now with the internet, and I guess more competition they've had to change and become more accommodating. I'm basing this on what my dad said about credit cards back in his day.
