I actually never like killing bugs unless I have to, and when I see spiders in my room I use to leave them alone... that is until I started feeling shit crawl on me at night, which started getting really annoying. One night I felt one crawl right across my frickin face. That pissed me off so I turned the light on, found the thing, and killed it. I feel kind of bad now.

    And Finch, I know there's at least one other person from Colorado, someone mentioned Boulder in one of the threads but I forgot who it was. And yeah, Black Widows are really common here, though I only see them outside.

    I really do not like these potato bugs. I think they are one of the most disgusting looking things, clicking on the full size image gave me the chills. I'm just glad I don't see them very often.

  8. I used to find potato bugs all the time when flipping over logs and shit when I lived in the boonies. Weird ass looking bug, certainly disgusting in a way that most bugs aren't. But I was never afraid of them. No idea what they could do.

    On the topic of bees, here's a fun fact: I've never been stung. And I'm just shy of being deathly afraid of being stung 'cause my mom is allergic and I've no idea if I am or not (on the bright side, my dad and my sisters are not allergic).

  9. So, when i was like 2 or 3, i had no idea that a bee was a bee. When i was told to keep away from the side of the school because of the bees, i was wondering what the danger of a B was. So i got stung. The same thing happened with sticker bushes, because what kind of child doesn't like to get stickers?

    Also, i found this bug a few months ago at a rest stop in Alabama.



    I was trying to take pictures of bees, but i saw this little green fleck on a flower. It looked like a little leaf, but upon closer examination, it's a bug! I think it's an ambush bug, which hides out and catches other insects, like bees.

    According to the Schmidt Sting Index, a honeybee has a worse sting then the hornet pictured.
