It's more or less, because we read the same pages of the same forums. Though I still think it's a matter of preference, as there is a benefit to 120hz if you have an eye for it. As for the 65 vs. the 71, the difference is in a few hundred dollars, so investing into a newer model for a relatively small sum is worth it, at least to me. Who knows, maybe a firmware update improves upon how it deals with 60hz sources. Or maybe they'll just shuffle out a new series in a few short months and let us rot in hell!

But I don't think there is right now, unless you like the effect created by auto-motion. There are no sources that give the tv real frames to display at 120hz. With auto-motion off, you are displaying the same frame twice, but since pixels on an LCD are always lit till they are changed, it doesn't really matter if it shows the same frame twice(120hz), or one frame twice as long(60hz). The benefit for 24p sources also doesn't apply, since the 71 series does 3:2 pulldown * 2 and not 5:5. So I don't see why it matters given the sources we have, and the poor implementation of auto-motion. With auto-motion off the 71 and 65 are essentially the same set.

Are there 120hz sources? I love the Sammy TVs, but honestly the 120hz mode looks like shit. It's so disorienting and unnatural.

I'll tell you this: at the Fry's where I work there's always a group of people huddled around PotC on Blu-Ray playing on one of the Sammy 120 models. Sometimes up to twenty people will get stuck watching the entire movie.

When we used to have the same movie playing on the older TVs, no crowd.
