Watched Blade Runner: Final Cut on hd dvd with dj, since he never seen this film, and been asking me to get that.
wow, it looks phenomenal in high def. and still a great, visionary film, after all these years. it just amazing how much influence it had on the sci-fi and futuristic cinema in the 25 years since its release.

Past 3 movies I saw in theaters (no threads about them on TNL):
The Bank Job - Enjoyed it. Solid movie, but I'd recommend a rental. 7/10
Horton Hears a Who - Surprisingly funny. 7/10
Funny Games - WTF kinda movie. I don't know whether I liked it or not. Lots of bizarre moments. Twisted humor. 6/10
Iron Man, Batman, Indiana Jones, and all that good shit can't come soon enough..
Pitch Black in HD. I haven't seen this since the theater, and man, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. For a low budget movie, it delivered great visuals, cool creatures, and one bad ass character in the face of Vin Diesel.
I also liked how un-pc it was, with kids and characters you wouldn't expect becoming fish bait.
They even had Crikey line![]()
Escape From New York- Awesome as usual
No Country For Old Men- Also awesome
Hudsucker Proxy- Not the Coens' best work
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.
Southland Tales
My comment: WHAT THE FUCK !!!!
I am not gonna pretend I am lover of art cinema, nor I'll say I can understand every idea thrown at screen, but again WTF had happened here. Why was Rock, Stiffler, Lambert, Lovitz, Gellar were in the fucked up excuse of movie. Like a stew of ideas thrown in and mixed in a pot without any regard of how they can possibly work with each other, it desperately rushed from one thread to another, entangling and confusing itself more and more . I am sure, director will say that its all a grand design to this madness, but I bet almost no one outside his own, self brilliant mind, would "get" it.
It was BAD to the tens power. But I just kept on watching, compelled to see how this can possibly end. And what an ending that was: nothing.
Something that maybe makes even a bit of sense? Not only to the director, but the actual viewer? I wonder if actors had any idea of wtf is happening in it, or just went with the flow.
Rock did had some great presence, his fingers got such a workout, and his: "I am a Pimp. Pimps don't commit suicide" is a classic.
