Srsly, Aliens isn't as good as Alien, but it's still one of the greatest movies ever made. No action? What the fuck.

Whens the last time you watched Aliens? I used to think it had action. But it doesn't. I was BLOW AWAY watching it for the first time in maybe, 10 years.

How do you like "Alien" if you think "Aliens" is boring?

Alien is not trying to give them impression its an action movie like Aliens is. Alien is a suspense movie, and its trying to be one, and it delivers. Aliens is a boring Action movie. I love lots of movies that are slow, but not when they are advertised as an action movie.

I watched it like half an hour ago. It's awesome.

I know its a sci-fi movie, but you can lots and lots of different genres of Sci-Fi movies.

That's what we call a "sub-genre" 'round these parts. (in which Aliens is usually classified in the "Science Fiction/Techno/Horror thriller" set)

If Aliens was supposed to be straight-up action throughout, it would have been. Cameron knew what he was doing, though.

He wrote "Rambo II", for cripes' sake.

edit to respond to edit: I am saying, Aliens is pretty much set "as-is". It's fucking brilliant.

Im going to watch it again tonight, and try to watch it from a different perspective.

Also, bringing "Rambo II" into an argument can never help.

"Rambo II" is an example of action-for-action's-sake, which is what you wanted out of Aliens for some reason.

(fun thing: apparently Cameron wrote Aliens, The Terminator and Rambo II --pre-Stallone producer meddling-- at the same time!)

Recently enough to recall the last thirty minutes as nonestop awesome. The entire sequence with the queen is one of the greatest moments in movie history.

Which is why it's nice "Aliens" was not that movie. Work-for-hire is funny like that.
