Thread: The "I Just Watched..." Thread

  1. I really wasn't feeling the little girl TV star fantasy vibe that the Hunger Games books have. Like, there's a whole lot of prepping for video shoots and making video shoots and what did the audience think of that kind of stuff. I didn't get that from the movie and it improved the experience.

  2. The River

This is one of the worst things I've ever seen.

which is why it was cancelled after 8 episodes.
MechDeus - Nick is the Bruce Wayne to Yoshi's Jean-Paul Valley.

  4. Watched Dune on Bluray. Haven't watched it since it hit theaters way back when. I remember it being longer. Yes thats what she said. Still, having read the book recently i can't say they butchered it too badly.

  5. there is a extended edition of Dune that adds around an hour but I don't think there is a HD version of it.
look here, upon a sig graveyard.

    That's fifteen episodes too late.

So this one is like 12 hours long?

  8. been watching more Jem and Beast Wars.

Season two of Jem is kind of a drag. Almost all the episodes are "one to grow on" episodes. Though the one about drug use is kind of amazing. Girl is tripping balls.

Beast Wars is still kind of horrible. And the visuals have gotten worse with age. PS1 polygon graphics with mostly poorly written dialog and plots.

I agree at first I was ehhh... kind of silly. But the moment they go psychic and start acting like teenagers with powers cool. It felt real and started to get fun. But then when he became a super villain Holy Shit! Fucking amazing and an awesome turn. Special effects actually impressed me. Great build up and a pretty genuine amateur feel.

It is good to carry some powdered rouge in one's sleeve. It may happen that when one is sobering up or waking from sleep, a samurai's complexion may be poor. At such a time it is good to take out and apply some powdered rouge.

  10. Fright Night

The new one with Colin Ferrell. It's really good! But two complaints. One: some of the CG is fucking terrible. It really pulls you out because it just doesn't look right. Second, Colin in great as Jerry (he's a great actor in general) and he's a really mean vampire. Good stuff. But there's a couple times where he hams it up so bad I thought I was watching the outtakes (the scene where he's getting beer from Charley). Other than that, good times.
