Thread: The "I Just Watched..." Thread

I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough for the ending. If he had pulled all that shit throughout, he should have won. The DA was not smart enough to get one over on him.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
    My Backloggery

  2. Thats the problem writers run into when the characters they are writing are smarter than they are. They either have to pull a deus ex machina or make smart boy suddenly do some stupid shit.

  3. That's the worst. Super-smart villain does something completely fucktarded so he can die and the hero can win.

  4. It wasn't that he did stupid shit. It was a deus ex machina in the form of a fax that broke the case open at exactly the right moment.

  5. I finally watched all of King of Chinatown. That's some depressing shit. I loved when Henry "Golden" Cen dropped knowledge on him and he couldn't take it. The sponsoring of players is still not perfected and many are trying to take advantage of uninformed kids/young adults. I hate the practice but whatever. I would do backflips of Razer or Evil Geniuses sponsored my black ass.

  6. Saw Charlie Chaplin's The Circus last night with my dad. I never really thought silent films were funny, but damn, this one was pretty good. He was definitely a pioneer of the physical style of comedy that Jim Belushi, Molly Shannon, and Chris Farley adopted.
"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." Unknown

  7. I've been watching the original SNLs. It's funny how these things have been so romanticized as if every sketch was comedy gold.
It was the same then as it is now. You might get one or two funny things along with a whole lot of boring nonsense. I particularly don't care for the muppet skits.
    This was funny though!

  8. It's just that everyone remembers the funny stuff, and the careers of the people who were behind it (how could these people put together a crummy season?).

I remember Adam Sandler complaining about SNL writing in 1994-1995 or so. Now that era is considered genius times for SNL.

  9. I've been saying that about SNL for a long while. I watched a lot of the newer stuff and found it funny or not funny at all. People mentioned how much more amazing it used to be, so I watched seasons 1 and 2, while I really liked them it's absurd that people think they're sooooo much better.

    One of my favorites though

  10. I'm not sitting through a commercial, but I see Word Association in the url. It's gotta be the Chevy Chase/Richard Pryor piece, right?

I also liked the Franken and Davis "what if the Indians won" sketch.
