The ending of Sharp Objects was not as good as the rest of the series.
Fuck. This must be some Humble Bundle punctuation special deal she got.
I'm continuing my watching of Spike Lee joints and watched Crooklyn. It's a slice of life movie, so the lack of real plot was kind of off putting, but by the end of the movie I really empathized with the characters and when the mom got cancer and died and the kids had to deal with it it destroyed me.
Hereditary. Really enjoyed the first half or so, then it gets so goofy that I couldn't take it seriously.
you're wrong, btw.
it seems like people either really were shook by the movie or they thought it was ridiculous. I mentioned this pages ago but you could even see in the theater that there were people who were laughing hysterically and people who were clearly terrified by it. I was the latter!
I saw The Exorcist for the first time last night! Doing a 1970s horror thing lately. That was fantastic, what a well crafted movie.
Having the mom hiding/crawling in the ceiling is so cliche and comical, I have to laugh. Sorry I maybe wrong but it is unintentional funny.
It is also a very boring movie, it feels far longer than the 2 hours that it is.
Personally, I think it's one of the best horror movies ever made. It has horror tropes for fans of the genre but has a depth and level of execution that you rarely see.
I thought Hereditary was excellent.
I'm having fun with it (not done), but I'm veering HARD in the direction of laughter, and having fun with it. It's not a serious film imo, but a funny one for sure. VERY well executed. VERY well in terms of cinematography, art direction, ideas etc.
It's hard to quite put my finger on just what makes me consider it "less-than." Maybe upon a rewatch in a single sitting it'll grow on me.
