I searched on "watching" in Cinemania a couple months ago, and found this one:

    http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/s...ad.php?t=25935

    It's pretty old.

Anyway, within the past couple weeks:

    1. Firewall - it sucked.
    2. Apocalypto - it ruled.
    3. 1408: DC - it was okay.

  2. A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (1945): I've seen parts off and on the last few months and finally caught it at the front the other day. One of my favorite old movies ever. One of those great movies based on great literature like To Kill A Mockingbird.

Irma La Douce (1963): I love young Shirley Maclaine and Jack Lemmon is awesome. It's a Billy Wilder movie, whom I love as a director as well. Great, funny flick. Shirley Maclaine plays a hooker in 19th century Paris who gets knocked up by Jack Lemmon.

On The Waterfront (1954): I've been trying to see this forever so I broke down and bought the dvd recently. Shit, this movie rules. It's a great movie for a double feature with Scorsese's Raging Bull. On the Waterfront is like a Scorsese movie made way before Scorsese made movies. Marlon Brando was amazing in this; Eva Marie Saint too.

Speaking of Scorsese, I also recently watched Taxi Driver, which I haven't watched in a long time. Everyone knows that movie is awesome though. I picked up Mean Streets too. It's really good, but not as good as Scorsese's great movies (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino).

Miami Vice: I rewatched this the other day (the unrated cut). I think this movie is criminally underrated. Great flick.

  3. Billy Wilder was a great director. Probably my favorite from the old days.

  4. 1. Firewall - it sucked.
Ford is so over the hill at this point it's comical. If you can't do anything but play the action hero quit at 60. Unless you're Bruce Willis, he can make die hards until he's in a walker.

  5. Rewatched Die Hard 2: Dieharder which I still love. Good action, Bruce Willis doing what he does best and lots of explosions. Also less of annoying sideckicks, unlike with other DH movies. Yeah, he does hooks up with janitor and operation tech guys, but only for few minutes, and goes for the rest of film on his own.

Elf - I dont know why. Dont ask, it was on USA and me and wife were feeling tired and just sat through it. It was HORRIBLE.

Hitman - Mediocre and at the end forgettable action flick. Few decent action scenes, good amount of headshots and blood. Good set of tities. But also bad story, some horrible acting.

I dig DH2 as well. And it has one of my favorite lines ever: "And where are we going to get those lights? Borrow them from Batman?"

Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers
Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww

  7. Rescue Dawn.
Not bad. Entertaining to see Christian Bale eat a bowl of maggots and how fucking skinny he, Steve Zahn, and Jeremy (someone or other) got for their roles . Movies about escaping a Vietnamese POW camp.
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"

  8. I saw Big trouble in little China for 3 bucks at Wal-mart, and since I didn't have my own copy I picked it up and watched it the other night. Ridiculous, but still funny.

I saw it on USA too, but i liked it. I think the massive amounts of absurdity in the beginning should have carried through the movie. It reminded me of the 1985 Santa Claus: The Movie, which i haven't seen since probably 1986.
