Watched the new Ghost in the Shell. The only, only redeemable part of this movie for me was when the sexy broken-ass robot turned out to be Michael Pitt. I had to idea he was in it and I was sooo bored until he took off his hood then



And then he was only in two scenes and it was like wow, what a fucking waste.

ScarJo was one of the most boring people they could have casted for this. Seriously, I know she's supposed to be a robot and no emotion or whatever, but she was painfully uninteresting and I mostly just wanted her to get blown apart because at least it was neat looking. No one else in the cast was particularly insufferable, but I just don't get why they didn't use an asian actress, or literally anyone else. It seems dumb to go through the trouble of casting Beat Takashi and a few others, and then have your main girl be a white girl in yellow-face makeup.

And yes, I realize my name is Satsuki and I'm a weeb but sometimes the blatant asian fetishism gets sooo boring. There was not a single asian cliche unturned here - from the geisha girls with porno screams, the southeast asian "ladyboy," the wise old sensei, the bonsais and koi, just...everything. It wasn't a neat homage to 90s anime, it was just piling every asian trope on top of each other. I would give literally anything at this point to see a cool cyberpunk movie that wasn't just a mishmash of cliches.

But yeah Michael Pitt was so underutilized in this that I'm getting Jude Law/AI flashbacks.

I just watched the hidden interview with OJ Simpson, that was supposed to be part of the deal with the publisher for his book "If I did it". He totally confessed to the murder of his former wife in the interview and tried to play it off as a hypothetical incident. It brings a totally chilling feeling to you when he starts to describe the events.

Maybe this will ramp up people jacking with him and he'll snap. He's still on probation after all. It'll be like that time right after the trial when he was taking calls on a radio station. One caller asked him about how difficult it was for him to break the single season rushing record, and then went on to ask him if killing 2 people was harder.

A sane person would admit that that piece of shit OJ did it, but the black community was all adamant that he was being framed.

It's just sad to see that Robert Shapiro believed that the glove proved that OJ didn't do it.






Look at how the black church embraced OJ and turned it into something else. I remember seeing a video of this event, where the preacher was propping OJ up and you could just see the look of guilt in OJ's face when it was happening. This guy lost the (supposed) love of his life, and he isn't even shedding a tear, or mentioning her. What a nutcase!




Love Steve Harvey. He didn't fall into that racial trap that OJ's legal team used to energize the black community.

He’s a screamer, and belittler. Very much a dick swinging, “I work 70hrs a week, and you’re not allowed to be tired” dickhead.

Now, he’s kinda half walked that back, and said “I used to be a dick, haha”. It doesn’t undo a book, and 15 years of instilling this into hundreds (thousands even) of cooks. And it’s hardly brave to take that stance after you’ve made your bones and money.
